The frame / floor board was sprayed in Tamiya TS-7 racing white. The floor board is visible when viewing the finished model, so a matching body panel color was used. Tamiya TS-7 is a creamy white very similar to Honda's championship white. TS-7 will be used again in my NSX-R currently being built.
Test fit of frame, motor, and driver's seat
The front suspension was simply brush finished in X-18 semi-gloss black. It's a difficult acrylic to work with as the gloss tends to dry unevenly. It has a short working time so apply it sparingly but evenly across the surface. Just like waxing a car, work in small sections until complete for best results. Once your brush feels slightly tacky, it's time to dip it again. Allow time to dry and reapply in thin layers. This will allow the paint to build up nicely. Don't forget to stir the paint often, it tends to thin making it more difficult to apply.
As a general rule for painting, I work from top to bottom. For example, the brake rotor part has a raised section for the brake caliper. I first finish off the caliper as it sits higher than the other parts that require painting (the rotor surface). Using this method, I find it much easier to get clean paint lines on a single part where two or more colors are required.
