project: Honda RA272 #8

The underside of a model typically doesn't get much exposure, but knowing that you built the model with as much detail as you possibly could is very rewarding.

The underside was first completely sprayed with TS-7 racing white.  Flat aluminum detailing was then hand applied with a flat #0 brush onto the grooved under body sections.  It was very difficult to mask these uneven surfaces, so a steady hand and a load of patience was needed to ensure I achieved clean lines.  At this stage the car was nearly complete with the engine, suspension, and interior finished.  The RA272 just needed 4 wheels, nose cone, and windshield.

An important moment in the build - motor meets chassis
